


Our Fishing Rules
GENERAL FISHING COMPETITION RULES

All competitors will start and finish at a nominated event ramp. Late entries must register with the competition co-ordinator when leaving the ramp on either VHF Channel 69, What's App or mobile phone.

On a competition day, skippers must log on at the start time of the comp to the competition co-ordinator on either VHF Channel 69, What's App or mobile phone. Members must also log on and log off to the local Sea Rescue Group. If unable to log on pairing up is compulsory.

There must be a minimum of four boats entered in any competition or that competition will be cancelled.

If a competition is cancelled due to bad weather, unsuitable conditions or insufficient starters, that competition will be held on the following Saturday or Sunday.

A competition will also be cancelled if on the day of the competition there is a strong wind warning or large swell forecast.

If fishing five nautical miles offshore, then all boats must be a minimum of five meters in length and equipped with a VHF radio.

All persons participating in a competition do so at their own risk

Competitions will be run by the competition co-ordinator and will have a START TIME and a WEIGH-IN TIME. The competition co-ordinator will inform members Thursday evening if a comp will proceed via What's App.

All competitions will be total bag weight and then points awarded for club championship trophies.

If any fish or bag presented for weigh-in contravenes state limits it will disqualify the competitor from the competition.

All boats must comply with Marine and Harbours safety regulations and carry a lifejacket for each person on board as well as flares and epirb.

Fish eligible for weigh-in are the listed species in the recreational fishing guide with the exclusion of Wrasse, Parrot Fish, and stingrays. Only 0ne Australian Salmon and one Samson Fish may be weighed in. The Samson Fish will have a maximum of 5kg eligible weight only.

Sharks must be a whole trunked shark (head, stomach, tail and fins removed) with a maximum of 10kg eligible weight only per shark.
